DISCIPLINARY KNOWLEDGE
By the end of the program, students will be able to demonstrate fundamental disciplinary competencies that they can deploy across domains, contexts, and spaces.
CRITICAL THINKING AND PROBLEM SOLVING
Students will master and apply a range of techniques of inquiry and analysis to diagnose and solve problems across domains, contexts, and spaces.
INTERDISCIPLINARY KNOWLEDGE, INTER-CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING AND SENSITIVITY
Exercise an integrative intelligence to traverse and reconcile disciplinary, perspectival, and socio-cultural differences with agility and sensitivity.
ETHICS AND SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY, AND GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP
Identify normative and ethical considerations that apply to the activities of the workplace and society, and articulate a personal conception of global citizenship that recognises the cultural and perspectival diversity in the world.
ADDITIONAL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
Beyond the 3 pillars, all SMU undergraduate students must also fulfil a set of additional graduation requirements prior to graduation. Multiple-counting for these graduation requirements is allowed: students will be allowed to use the same course to fulfil the additional graduation requirements and/or other degree requirements.
