College of Integrative Studies (CIS) Residency Grant

To facilitate a full collegiate experience, CIS students who are Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents and are residing in PSR will be entitled to 50% off the monthly accommodation rate. International students will be entitled to 25% off the monthly accommodation rate.


Terms & Conditions

  • Recipients of the CIS Residency Grant must be CIS undergraduates.
  • Recipients of the CIS Residency Grant are expected to make PSR their primary residence during term time.
  • Recipients of the CIS Residency Grant are expected to participate actively in PSR activities.
  • Recipients of the CIS Residency Grant can also apply for the Social Committee Grant and PSR Resident Senior Grant but are not eligible for the Prinsep Experience Grant.


Prinsep Experience Grant (PEG)

To encourage local students to enrich their undergraduate experience with at least a semester of residential living, SMU has introduced the Prinsep Experience Grant (PEG) for all Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. Recipients of the PEG will be entitled to 30% off the monthly accommodation rate.

*Applicable for students who are not from the College of Integrative Studies (CIS).

Terms & Conditions

  • Recipients of the PEG are expected to make PSR their primary residence during term time.
  • Recipients of the PEG are to participate actively in PSR activities.

Social Committee Grant (SCG)

To ensure that the programming at PSR is relevant and attractive to its residents, the University has introduced the Social Committee Grant (SCG) for all eligible student leaders who are willing to devote their time to also serve as members of the Social Committee in PSR. Recipients of the SCG will be entitled to a 50% subsidy off the monthly accommodation rate (this can be enjoyed on top of the PEG or the CIS Residency Grant, and the Resident Senior Grant).

Terms & Conditions

  • Recipients are required to attend in-person meetings and training sessions, as directed by the PSR Undergraduate Team.
  • Recipients of the SCG are expected to make PSR their primary residence during term time.

PSR Resident Senior Grant

To provide an enjoyable living experience for everyone at PSR, SMU has introduced the PSR-RSG for capable, responsible, and fun-loving senior students who are appointed as PSR’s apartment leaders. There shall be one Resident Senior per apartment, and they will serve as leaders and mentors to the residents under their care. Recipients of the PSR-RSG will enjoy a 25% subsidy off the monthly rental rate (this can be enjoyed on top of the PEG or the CIS Residency Grant, and the Social Committee Grant).

Terms & Conditions

  • Recipients have to be SMU Year Two undergraduates and up. Prior stay at SMU’s residence is preferred, but we welcome all applicants who can meet our requirements!
  • Recipients are required to attend in-person meetings and training sessions, as directed by the PSR Undergraduate Team.
  • Recipients are to work closely under the guidance of the Lead Faculty Fellow and other Resident Seniors to:
    • Be mentors and peer leaders for up to 11 other residents in their apartment, ensuring that cleanliness, silent hours, and other community rules are observed, while taking care of the residents’ well-being and morale.
    • Assist the PSR Undergraduate Team and Social Committee to execute social activities throughout the year.
