Janny Fritzen Teaching Fellow

Email Address: jfritzen@smu.edu.sg Phone: +65 6828 0564

Janny brings over twelve years of global experience as an educator and researcher, with expertise in rhetoric, discourse studies, academic writing, and communication.

She believes that the best writing begins long before words appear on the page—it begins with asking better questions.
Her teaching encourages students to use writing as a process of inquiry rather than simply a means of presenting polished answers.

Her current research explores how generative AI can serve as a thinking partner that challenges assumptions, broadens perspectives, and strengthens reasoning while preserving students' intellectual ownership of their work.
