Yin Teng’s research interest is in helping novice writers transition to become effective communicators in academic and professional settings. She is also interested in designing engaging curriculum to promote a meaningful learning experience for her students. As an executive committee member of the Singapore Association for Applied Linguistics (SAAL), Yin Teng co-organizes symposiums related to language and communication for linguistics practitioners and researchers. She was a nominee of the Tan Poey Quee Book Prize Award 2025 for her doctoral thesis and a nominee of the SMU Teaching Excellence Awards.
