SMU’s College of Integrative Studies student Zachary Tay is developing an AI assistant inspired by JARVIS from Iron Man to help persons with disabilities navigate daily challenges. Born with dyskinetic cerebral palsy, Zachary hopes the smartphone-based assistant can understand unclear speech, correct typing errors, manage schedules, and provide medication reminders. He also aims to develop core functions that work offline to reduce data security risks and improve accessibility for users with disabilities.
