Patrick Olsen is Assistant Professor of Music (Education) at Singapore Management University's College of Integrative Studies (CIS), where he teaches Big Questions. He is also Lead Faculty Fellow at Prinsep Street Residences (PSR), where he provides mentorship for undergraduate students, particularly those interested in integrating arts into their studies. His research interests include music education, assessment of creative practices, learning cultures, and the marketisation of education.
Prior to his academic career, Dr. Olsen was a professional touring musician based in Ireland, where he toured internationally with the Irish Harp Orchestra and worked regularly with the Irish Chamber Orchestra. These diverse experiences have informed his education practices and developing of multi-disciplinary approaches to research and problem solving.
