Artist-in-Residence Programme by Lien Fung Colloquium
As part of the Lien Fung Colloquium (LFC)’s ongoing efforts to deepen engagements with both SMU students and the broader community in conversations on the arts and humanities in everyday life, the inaugural Artist-in-Residence programme will host a locally based practicing artist whose work demonstrates a strong engagement with contemporary social and cultural themes.
The residency intends to support an emerging artist with a modest but promising record of productivity, providing a much-needed boost to creative artists to showcase their work. In addition, the residency also aims to create opportunities for dialogue, collaboration, and learning especially with the students in the College of Integrative Studies and SMU, to complement the broader social engagement the LFC undertakes with its public series lectures.
