Alparslan’s areas of expertise include Macro-Labor, Macro-Finance, the Economics of Inequality, and the Marriage Market. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Chicago (2019). Prior to joining SMU, he was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the American University of Beirut from 2019 to 2025. His current research explores the intersections of macroeconomic policy, labor markets, and household dynamics.
