Oil paintings of Balinese women

A pair of oil paintings of Balinese women, purchased by Mr Wee in Jakarta, Indonesia on Sunday, May 2 1966 after he had interviewed Lieutenant-General Soharto, then the “strongman” of Indonesia. Soharto had granted him an exclusive interview and announced Indonesia’s intension to end “Confrontasi” with Malaysia. The pair of paintings were purchased to commemorate the event and the world scoop Mr Wee achieved.
