In a commentary, SMU Professor of Communication and Technology and Vice President (Partnerships and Engagement) Lim Sun Sun explored how the metaverse bridges the chasm between promise and reality. She also discussed the need to develop not just digital infrastructure but also the legal frameworks for the metaverse to become the much-vaunted extension of our offline lives, while offering all the benefits of a VR world.
